TOP 10 QUESTIONS TO ASK IN ORDER TO AVOID IMMEDIATE MAJOR EXPENSES: 

  1. How old is the roof?

  2. How old are the windows?

  3. Is the plumbing primarily PVC or copper/steel piping?

  4. What’s the state of the home’s discharge pipe and what type of pipe takes it to the sewer? 

  5. When was the electrical panel replaced?

    1. If a home was built prior to the early 1900’s, are there any signs of knob and tube electrical left in the home?

  6. What type of pests threaten homes in the area? Termites, rats, mice etc.

  7. Are there signs of water damage? (Burst pipes, Leaky roof, misaligned toilets?)

  8. How old is the furnace and when was it last serviced?

    1. What type of heating runs through the home?

  9. How old is the water heater? 

  10. How old is the home’s AC unit?
